Testimonials
The Iyengar Yoga Center of Mexico are deeply grateful for all that she has shared with us and for the inspiration she continues to bring into the lives of her students. It is with heartfelt appreciation that we wish her every success in this beautiful new chapter, and we have no doubt that her new school ………. will flourish, touching many more minds and hearts with the light of her teachings.
I profoundly recommend her classes to anyone interested in delving into the essence of yoga.
I am deeply grateful to Puneeta for opening the doors of Vedic chanting to me. Since I've started to chant, my Yoga practice has grown wings. Even though I feel like a young child peeking in the immensity of a timeless world, it feels familiar and healing. Puneeta is a very clear, patient, and easy-to-learn-with teacher. I feel these classes are open to anyone who has the wish in their heart to delve into this ancient tradition.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with such patience and kindness. Each session leaves me feeling more grounded and balanced — both in body and mind.
When I first started, it was mainly about asana practice. But slowly, over time, other dimensions got woven into the journey — pranayama, Vedic chanting, and later the swadhyaya work.
Looking back now, one of the things that amazes me is how seamlessly I seem to have moved through different phases of life. There was a profound transition in my life during these years, along with periods of anxiety, the uncertainty of COVID, family health concerns, children’s exams — all the stresses that life inevitably brings. Somehow yoga became an anchor through all of that. The breathing, the asanas, and the understanding that slowly came through the practice helped me stay steady.
On the physical side too, the changes have been very real. I used to struggle quite a bit with cervical spondylosis, but the attacks gradually became less frequent. In fact, I can’t even remember the last time I needed physiotherapy for it.
People often ask me how I manage to stay so energetic even after long workdays. I think the answer is simply that yoga has quietly become part of my life. I may sometimes wake up a little sluggish, but I’m always enthusiastic about getting onto the mat — and when I return from work, the practice somehow leaves me feeling fresh again.
Chanting was another interesting discovery. Initially it just felt pleasant, something I enjoyed doing in class. But after a few months I suddenly noticed something shifting — my focus had improved, my mind felt clearer, almost as if a window had opened. Now chanting has become something I naturally include in my daily life.
And then there is the swadhyaya journey, which has been deeply meaningful. Of course we study anatomy and the asanas in detail, but what I value most are the philosophy sessions. Understanding the Yoga Sutras, the nature of the mind, concepts like chitta vritti — all of this has expanded my horizon enormously. It has helped me understand yoga in a much deeper way and approach my practice with more awareness and purpose.
What makes this journey special is Puneeta herself. She teaches with great depth but also with humility. There is no pushiness, no sense of authority — just the feeling of someone who is herself sincerely walking the path and sharing what she has learned along the way.
That sincerity comes through in everything she does.
*Chanting with Puneeta* Chanting has been transformative for me. Focus, concentration, meditation, routine, reproducing sounds through aural listening, breath control have all always eluded me. And I am no singer by any stretch of imagination. But chanting brought out something in me. It required all of me to be present - listening carefully, staying with the rhythm, and allowing sound and breath to guide my attention. It was an active meditation.
Through chanting I found moments of complete silence which may sound ironical but what I mean is that it quietened all my inner voices. It made me confront my self critical thoughts and it humbled me. When my mind wanders or doubts surface, my chanting practice invites me to notice them, slow down the reactions and return to the sound, the breathing and the moment.
All this has been possible because of my teacher, Puneeta, who holds the space with a balance of kindness, firmness and humour. That makes the learning environment supportive and encouraging. This practice is a journey and not a destination in itself and it keeps unfolding gradually with patience and curiosity.
Hridayam was born from my own journey with Iyengar Yoga, as a practice that brings steadiness, awareness, and quiet transformation over time.
Each offering here is guided with care, rooted in tradition, and shaped by lived experience. There is no rush, only a steady unfolding, supporting you wherever you are in your practice and in your life.
You are welcome to step in, explore, and allow the practice to meet you where you are.
